The PlusTeam partnership is ending, but support for families will continue
The municipal councils of Geldrop-Mierlo (April 20, 2026) and Waalre (May 7, 2026) have authorized their executive committees to terminate the PlusTeam Joint Arrangement. Both executive committees have since made this decision. For residents, there will be no change in the support provided. The guiding principle for both municipalities is that services for families with complex problems will continue uninterrupted and that quality will be guaranteed, despite the dissolution of the joint arrangement.
Reform agenda calls for a different organizational structure
Since 2014, the municipalities of Geldrop-Mierlo and Waalre have been collaborating through the PlusTeam joint arrangement to carry out tasks under the Youth Act and the Social Support Act.
The Youth Reform Agenda and the Future Scenario for Youth and Family Protection call for a different organizational structure for these services. Both municipalities have decided to reorganize support for families facing complex challenges, effective January 1, 2027. From that date forward, the municipalities will assume the current responsibilities of the PlusTeam.
Support for families remains the same
The municipal councils have expressed their intention to continue the collaboration through a service agreement and expect to finalize this agreement shortly. Starting January 1, 2027, the current duties of the PlusTeam will be carried out by the municipality of Geldrop-Mierlo on behalf of the municipalities.
