Change usage surname

If you are married or have become a registered partner, you can choose to use your partner's last name. If you are divorced or have lost your partner, you can also choose to change your name use.

You have the following choice:

  • only your own surname
  • only your partner's last name
  • your partner's last name followed by your own last name
  • your own last name followed by your partner's last name

Name customization digitally

If you cannot find your way digitally, you can of course also make an Make an appointment to change your name at the front desk.

Your passport, identity card or driver's license always shows your own name. Even if you are married or registered partner. However, you can have your partner's name put on these documents.
