Soil Quality

In Geldrop-Mierlo, soil movement takes place on a regular basis. When applying soil as soil, the soil quality map and the soil management note must be taken into account. These documents indicate under which circumstances clean and lightly polluted soil can be applied. The soil quality map and soil management memorandum came into force on December 13, 2021.

  • The soil quality map shows the different types of soil qualities (zones) within the municipality. The purpose of the soil quality map is to Map the overall quality of the soil. For this purpose, the municipality has been divided into a number of zones with an environmentally comparable soil quality. The zones were drawn up by looking at the use (residential, industrial, rural) and the results of soil surveys.
  • In order to handle the soil quality map properly, a soil management memorandum has been drawn up, indicating how this soil quality should be handled. The soil used must be of comparable, or better, quality than the receiving soil.
  • The soil function map shows the location of areas with the soil function classes residential, industrial and other areas (agriculture and nature). The soil function map is derived from the various zoning plans.

The municipality keeps all soil information in the municipal soil information system. Do you want soil information, for example if you are going to build or rebuild or want to buy or sell your house? Then look at Soil Information. You can also go there for information on soil remediation, earth moving and oil tanks.
