Noise and facade loads
Sound
The municipality of Geldrop-Mierlo must provide insight into the noise levels resulting from environmental noise every 5 years. For this purpose, noise maps and tables and an action plan must be drawn up.
Façade loads of existing homes
The Noise Abatement Act (Wgh) focuses mainly on the protection of citizens in their living environment and has standards for the maximum noise load on the facade of a dwelling. In Geldrop-Mierlo, homes with the highest noise levels caused by road traffic are tackled first. This happens in a regional context. For dwellings with a lower noise level, the municipality has received a subsidy to do research into the noise level in dwellings along busy roads in our municipality. The same approach also applies to homes with excessive noise levels due to rail traffic. Prorail is responsible for this. For noise pollution from traffic on the freeway (A67), Rijkswaterstaat is responsible.
