Help for Ukraine

War has been raging in Ukraine since February 2022. As a result, a large flow of refugees has started. Geldrop-Mierlo finds it important to contribute in this social task to provide a safe place for the refugees; we therefore receive Ukrainian refugees.

Shelter locations

We have several municipal reception locations in Geldrop-Mierlo: the old GGD building at Stationsstraat 33, a small location on Sporkehout, a group location on Geldropseweg, a number of houses on Bogardeind and in the lodge house of the Bouwinfra Campus Helmond de Peel, on the Goorsedijk in Mierlo, Ukrainian youngsters traveling alone are received.

There are currently no empty spaces in our shelters. Also, there are almost no reception places available throughout the Netherlands. Therefore, this means that Ukrainian displaced persons unfortunately have to arrange their own place to stay.

For general information about reception in the Netherlands, visit the RefugeeHelp website and Goverment.nl.
