The phishing emails are being sent by different email addresses, strange names and with links to request something. This is not us! Also beware of fake collectors. Omgevingswet

On Jan. 1, 2024, the Omgevingswet went into effect. This changes things in the procedures of permits and zoning plans. The Omgevingswet combines all rules for the living environment in one law. Simultaneously with the Omgevingswet , the Building Quality Assurance Act (Wkb) will also be introduced. The purpose of the Wkb is to increase construction quality.

What does it entail?

The Omgevingswet combines and improves all 26 laws dealing with the physical environment into one law. These are laws that deal with everything you hear, see and smell in your environment.

What does it mean for you?

The law offers room for initiatives, but keeps an explicit eye on the quality of the living environment.

Environmental Vision

The Omgevingswet requires all municipalities and provinces to prepare an Environment Vision. The ambient vision states what our municipality looks like now and in the future.

Environmental Plan

The Omgevingswet provides that the environmental plan contains general rules of the municipality for the physical environment. Under the Omgevingswet Act, each municipality will have one environmental plan.

Environmental Permit

Most initiatives by residents and businesses affect the living environment. Therefore, many initiatives require a permit. For example, for building or renovating a house. Through the Omgevingsloket, from January 1, 2024, initiators can get clarity on whether a permit is required and submit the application.

Environment Counter

The moment the Omgevingswet takes effect, every municipality will be connected to the Digital System Omgevingswet (DSO). This is a digital counter for applying for permits, consulting the applicable rules per location, and where there will eventually be information about the quality of the physical environment.

Intake table

Do you have an initiative that does not or only partially fit into the environmental plan? If so, it is important to contact the municipality in time. For all initiatives and construction projects, such as the development of a home, the construction of a commercial building or the transformation of real estate, the municipality uses a structured planning process. We call this the intake table for spatial initiatives.
