The Omgevingswet requires all municipalities and provinces to create an environmental vision. The environmental vision states what our municipality looks like now and in the future. The environmental vision contains the main lines of the municipal policy on the physical living environment for the long term. The vision covers the entire territory of the municipality of Geldrop-Mierlo, so both cores and the entire outlying area. The vision is binding for the municipality.

With the environmental vision, we give direction, inspire and motivate our residents, entrepreneurs and civil society organizations. In this way, everyone can contribute to the implementation of the vision and contribute to the development of the municipality. Together, we are thus preparing for the future of our municipality.

The Geldrop-Mierlo Environmental Vision was adopted by the City Council on February 6, 2023.

Programs

The policy that we have written down in outline form in the environmental vision, we will elaborate further for some areas and themes in the coming years. We will do this together with the residents and partners in an area. This way you will know even more precisely what is going to happen in each area and what initiatives are possible. These elaborations will all be called "programs" and will eventually replace all the separate policy documents as we have them now. The environmental vision already lists the areas and themes for which we want to make a program in any case. An overview of all programs can be found in the multi-year budget.

Land policy and cost recovery program 

The Land Policy and Cost Recovery Program is one of the Programs developed in addition to the Environmental Vision. ln this program we address the frameworks for municipal land policy. In addition, the frameworks of cost recovery and financial contributions have been updated. You can read the program in the document below.
