Traffic controller at events

What is it?

At events, traffic controllers ensure that traffic can flow properly. For example, at events, parades and demonstrations.

You may not work as a traffic controller just like that. You must be appointed by the municipality.

What to do.

Through the website www.verkeersregelaarsexamen.nl you register your event. After the municipality has approved your event, an e-learning can be taken online by the persons who will be deployed as traffic controllers. The municipality receives a message when this is completed and the traffic controllers are then appointed by the mayor.

How does it work?

Requirements to become an event traffic controller include:

  • You are 16 years of age or older.
  • You have completed the police online instruction for traffic controller.
  • You took the instruction no later than 12 months ago.

What does it cost?

The online instruction for traffic controller is free.
