Genoenhuizerweg housing plan (Low Geldrop)

In 2019, the municipality acquired the land of the former garden center at Genoenhuizerweg 6 in Geldrop.

The municipality wants to develop the plot together with Vastgoedregisseur B.V. for housing development on the basis of collective private commissioning (CPO). The municipality and Vastgoedregisseur have jointly drawn up an urban development plan for this purpose. The plan provides for the construction of 12 houses in the expensive owner-occupied segment for life-long living, as well as a green rounding off of the village edge of Zesgehuchten.

In order to make the new building development (planning-wise) possible, a new zoning plan has been adopted. You can consult the zoning plan and all related documents on the Spatial Plans website.

Furnishing public space

Earlier this year, the municipality prepared a preliminary design (VO) for the layout of the public space within the Laag Geldrop planning area and the redesign of the existing road (between Hoog Geldrop and Genoenhuizerweg 6). During a walk-in meeting on August 21, 2024, this preliminary design was presented and explained to interested parties. Everyone was given the opportunity to react to the VO. The public comments received gave reason to adjust the design for the public space in parts. These adjustments were described in a public participation memorandum and incorporated into the final design (DO) that was adopted on November 19, 2024. You can access the final design and the public participation memorandum via the buttons below.

Planning

Based on the final design (DO), the municipality will prepare the plan area at Laag Geldrop for construction in 2025. The new residents will then build their homes. The expected completion is in 2026. After this, the municipality will start the layout of the public space in accordance with the established Thu. The work will be carried out in two phases. It will begin with the layout of Laag Geldrop, where further consultation with residents will take place about the interpretation of the greenery in the planning area. This will be followed by the redesign of Genoenhuizerweg.
