Right now, phone calls and e-mails are being made, supposedly on behalf of someone from the municipality. This person is asking about your valuables or indicating that you qualify for relief. The phishing emails are being sent by different email addresses, strange names and with links to request something. This is not us! Also beware of fake collectors. Do not provide information, do not click on links, hang up, call us at (040) 289 38 93 and make a report to the police!

Reception of refugees

COA (Central Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers) has been struggling with huge shortages of reception places for ages. All municipalities have to do their part to accommodate refugees. The Municipal Council of Geldrop-Mierlo chooses to organize structural and appropriate reception for refugees to ensure that the demand for reception places can be sufficiently met. The city council also considers it important that the reception takes place in a humane manner and is organized in a socially responsible manner for the environment.

Reception of Ukrainian refugees

War has been raging in Ukraine since February 2022. As a result, a large flow of refugees has started. Geldrop-Mierlo finds it important to contribute in this social task to provide a safe place for the refugees; we therefore receive Ukrainian refugees.

Reception of unaccompanied minors and students

After the relocation of the former residents to new premises, it turned out that the former Akert residential care complex would be suitable for the accommodation of students and minor asylum seekers after some modifications. Two groups for which housing is very urgently needed.

Permanent reception of refugees
