Urgency (priority) for social rental housing

Are you in urgent need of housing? Has an emergency situation arisen so that you can no longer continue to live in your home? Is it really urgent and are there no other solutions? Then you have priority in the allocation of a rental home. To get this, you must apply for urgency. Read on www.wooniezie.nl how to apply for urgency.

Note

There are organizations that help house seekers apply for urgency. For this they charge hefty sums, while this offers no guarantee about the outcome or speeds up the decision period. We advise you not to use their services.

Where can you apply for urgency?

You can submit your urgency application to one of the SGE's housing associations. You can read how to do this at www.wooniezie.nl

Register as a housing seeker

Search the Internet for supply sites for rental properties in the place you want to live. Registration is often free. For example through: wooniezie.nl, huurwoningen.nl, pararius.nl, woonzorg.nl, funda.nl or the local real estate agent.

You are looking for social housing

You can only rent social housing if you:

  • Are 18 years of age or older

There are other ways to try to get housing on relatively short notice. Go to the Wooniezie.nl website and respond to properties offered by lottery. Investigate flex-living options or go to websites that match the search term "rent house for rent in [city name]."

The urgency regulation Stedelijk Gebied Eindhoven is described in the Housing Regulation. You can read (in legal language) the joint Housing Ordinance here .
