Tractor Driving License
What is it?
You need a tractor driving license if you want to drive a tractor or tractor on public roads. This is category T on your driver's license. If you have this license, you may drive an agricultural and forestry tractor (LBT) with a trailer. You may also drive a limited-speed motor vehicle (MMBS) with a trailer.
To get your T driving license, you will take theory and practical exams at CBR. From 15.5 years you may do theory exam. From the age of 16 you may do a practical exam. Have you obtained a C (truck) driving license? Then you will also automatically receive driver's license T.
How does it work?
Exchanging a tractor certificate for the T-driving license is done through the RDW.

What to do.
You may drive an agricultural tractor or forestry tractor (LBT) or slow motor vehicle (MMBS) without a tractor license if:
- you do not take it on public roads (you stay in the yard or in the country, for example)
- you cannot tow a trailer or interchangeable machine with it
- the tractor is not more than 130 cm wide
- You mow with the tractor, control weeds, sweep, clear snow, control slipperiness or collect dog waste
Are you going to renew your driver's license? You will automatically be credited with category T if:
- your B driver's license was issued before July 1, 2015
- Your B driving license has not been invalidated
- You are 18 years of age or older at the time of application
Have you obtained driving license C? Then category T is also credited.
What do I need?
- A color passport photo that meets the requirements for passport photos
- Cash or a debit card. You pay directly at the time of application.
- When applying for your first driver's license: a valid passport or identity card.
- When renewing your driver's license: the driver's license you already have. If it is no longer valid, please also bring a valid passport or identity card.
- You pick up your driver's license in person at the municipality. Bring your old driver's license with you.

How long does it take?
You can pick up your new driver's license after 5 business days. Do you need the driving license sooner? It is possible to apply for a driving license with urgency. If you apply for the license before 2 p.m., you can pick it up within 2 business days.
You have 3 months to get your driver's license.
