Legalize signature
You can have your signature on a document authenticated. By doing so, we certify that the signature is genuine. You must provide your signature in person during your appointment, in the presence of a counter clerk. To request authentication, please make an appointment.
Legalizing a signature is often required:
- On documents to be sent abroad
- if you give your consent to something, for example, if you are a guarantor for family or friends from abroad
- If you want to arrange an inheritance abroad
What to do?
- Please bring the document (or documents) you will be signing with you in person.
- You will sign the document in the presence of the official.
- By legalization, the municipality certifies that it is your signature.
- When making your appointment, please select the number of documents you will be bringing. This will allow us to set aside enough time to assist you.
What should I bring?
- the document on which you wish to place your signature
- your valid proof of identity (passport, driver's license, Dutch identity card or foreigner's document)
