Apply for financial settlement for a monument
What is it?
There are several grants or loans for maintaining or restoring a monument. Do you have a monument that is on the municipal or provincial monument list? Then you can apply for a low-interest loan. The loan is intended for restoration. You apply for this Culture Fund mortgage through the Nationaal Restauratiefonds. The costs of municipal monuments are not tax deductible. Is your building or terrain not on the municipal monument list, but you think it should be? If so, check out the "Monuments" page.
Do you own a municipal monument? The policy rule "Contribution municipal monuments Geldrop-Mierlo 2014" has three incentive options for owners of municipal monuments:
- The possibility of membership Monumentenwacht and inspections Monumentenwacht. If you are the owner of a municipal monument and would like to take advantage of the collective subscription to Monumentenwacht, you can register through the website www.mwnb.nl.
- A fee concession if an environmental permit is required for work on the municipal monument. This fee allowance will be automatically deducted by the municipality from the final fee bill for the environmental permit.
- A contribution to the cost of facilities taken for the maintenance of the monument. To apply for a financial contribution for the maintenance and restoration of the municipal monument, complete the Application Form for Contributions for the Preservation of Municipal Monuments and attach the requested appendices. Send two copies of the application form with attachments to the municipality. You will receive the decision on your application within eight weeks after receipt of your complete application.
Do you own a national monument? There are two options for financial support:
- A Restoration Fund Mortgage. This is for owners of a residential home or farm. The farm is then not used for farming. It is also often possible to deduct the cost of maintenance on your tax return.
- A grant through the National Cultural Heritage Agency (RCE). This is intended for monument owners other than those above. You can think of mills and monasteries.
