The Bleekvelden project in Geldrop may proceed
Last Wednesday, the Council of State ruled on a number of appeals concerning three plans for the Bleekvelden area. The good news: the De Lichtspinnerij plan at Mierloseweg 40 in Geldrop has been approved. This project will include 40 apartments: 22 rental units and 18 for-sale units. The project is being developed and built by Houta. The building is part of the Bleekvelden development. Over the coming years, this former industrial site will be transformed into a green and sustainable residential neighborhood.
Other plans still need some tweaking
For the plans regarding Mierloseweg 28–38 (81 apartments) and Bleekvelden 26 (the Harks site, 51 apartments), a more detailed justification is required regarding how we address noise issues and the distance between the residences and the hardware store. Specifically, this means that a more thorough investigation is needed to determine whether the new residences will interfere with the hardware store’s operations. If this is the case, additional measures may need to be taken. The municipality has been given 16 weeks by the Council of State to address this.

We’ll get started on this right away. The goal is to resubmit the revised plans to the city council before the summer break. Want to learn more about this plan? Visit: www.wonenindelichtspinnerij.nl
