Maintenance of the platform canopy at Geldrop Station: possible noise disturbance
ProRail will be performing maintenance on the platform canopy at Geldrop Station over the coming months. Do you live near the tracks? If so, you may notice some activity. From April through the end of July, the wooden and steel components of the platform canopy will be painted, and any wood rot will be repaired. Thanks to this maintenance, the structure will be good for another 15 years or so.
Preparatory work in April
Before painting begins, the platform canopies will first be thoroughly cleaned. This will be done using high-pressure water (up to 200 bar) to remove dirt and grime. You may experience temporary noise disturbances during this work. Cleaning will take place from Sunday, April 12, through Friday, April 17, between 9:00 PM and 6:00 AM each night.
Why in the evening and at night?
A lot of water ends up on the platform during cleaning. For this reason, this work can only be carried out when there are no passengers on the platform. For more information about track work in your area, visit www.prorail.nl/spoorwerk.
