The wastewater treatment fee is missing from the tax assessment for some residents of Mierlo
While sending out the municipal tax bills, it became apparent that a portion of the water board tax was missing for some residents of Mierlo.
This concerns residents of Mierlo who fall under the jurisdiction of the Aa en Maas Water Board. The wastewater treatment charge is missing from their tax assessment. As a result, the assessment is lower than intended.
Cause
The reason for this lies in a change that took effect on January 1. The wastewater treatment fee was previously billed through Brabant Water’s annual financial statements. Starting this year, this fee is no longer collected by Brabant Water, but by the East Brabant Tax Cooperation (BSOB). However, the two components of the system fee—for buildings and residents—are correctly listed on the tax assessment.
What does this mean for you?
BSOB will correct this. If this applies to your address, you will receive a supplementary assessment for the wastewater treatment fee at a later date. Have you already paid your current assessment? If so, that payment will stand. You will only need to pay the outstanding amount via the supplementary assessment.
We understand that this can be frustrating. We are working with BSOB to resolve this as soon as possible. For more information, please visit the BSOB website or call (088) 551 00 00.
