Roadwork on Rielsedijk in Geldrop
From August 24 through October 9, 2026, the municipality of Geldrop-Mierlo will be conducting maintenance work on Rielsedijk. The work will take place on the section of Rielsedijk between Gijzenrooiseweg and Rielseheideweg. The work will be carried out by VGB Asfalt.
Work
The following work will be performed during the project:
- Removing and reinstalling the paving;
- Milling and partial replacement of the existing asphalt;
- Laying new asphalt;
- Application of new road markings;
- Seeding the roadside verges.
Traffic measures
From August 24 through October 9, 2026, Rielsedijk—between Gijzenrooiseweg and Rielseheideweg—will be closed to through motor vehicle traffic. Local traffic will have limited access to homes and businesses for much of the duration of the construction work.
During the asphalt work on Friday, September 4, and Friday, October 2, 2026, the work zone will be completely closed off. Homes and businesses within the work zone will be temporarily inaccessible by car during this time. Residents will be notified of this in advance.
Pedestrians will continue to have access to homes and businesses. Emergency services will have unimpeded access at all times throughout the project.
