You may not be able to work for an extended period of time. Your employer will continue to pay your salary until your contract expires. But no longer than 2 years. Are you not better within 2 years? Then apply for WIA benefit at UWV. Are you sick but do not have a permanent job? Apply for sickness benefit at UWV.
What would you like to know more about?
WIA benefit
If you become ill or disabled for a long period of time, your employer must continue to pay your wages for 2 years. Has nothing changed after 2 years? Then you may be eligible for WIA benefit. WIA stands for Work and Income Support Act.
You apply for it at the UWV. Check the website to see exactly how this works.
Sickness Law
The Sickness Act is a law that regulates that people without a permanent job receive benefits if they become sick. You can get Sickness Benefits if your contract ends during your illness or if you became ill within 4 weeks after your contract ended. You can also get Sickness Benefits if you have WW benefits or work for a temporary employment agency.
There are other situations in which you may be entitled to Sickness Benefits. You can find more information on the websites of the UWV and the Rijksoverheid.
