Want to cast your vote in another municipality? Apply for a voter ID card!
What is a voter ID card?
Do you want to vote in the House of Representatives elections on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, in a municipality other than where you live? Then you need a voter's pass. With a voter card you can vote in any municipality in the Netherlands. The voter card replaces your voting pass.
Where do you apply for a voter ID card?
You apply for a voter ID card in the municipality where you were registered in the Basic Registration of PersonsBRP) on Monday, September 15, 2025 (the day of candidacy).
How do you apply for a voter ID card?
Oral applications
Make an appointment at the Public Affairs desk of City Hall. This is possible from Wednesday, October 8, 2025 to Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at noon. Bring your voting card and a valid ID with you. If your application is approved, you will receive the voter card immediately.
Written request
Please use the model form K6-1 for this purpose. Your request must be received by the municipality no later than noon on Friday, October 24, 2025. Enclose a copy of your identification. Have you already received a voting card? If so, include that as well.
You can submit the form:
- at the front desk of the town hall (De Meent 2, Geldrop), or
- by mail: Municipality of Geldrop-Mierlo, Postbus 10101, 5660 GA Geldrop.
Requesting digitally
At this location, you can apply for a voter ID card digitally from Monday, September 22, 2025 through Friday, October 24, 2025 at noon. To do so, log in with your DigiD.
Important to know:
- A voter ID card cannot be replaced if lost.
- Starting Wednesday, October 8, 2025, we will send voter cards by mail. Because the mail is not delivered daily everywhere, we advise you to apply for the voter ID card on time.
- Are you going to vote? Always bring your voter's card and a valid ID with you. Your identification may not be older than 5 years.
Voter ID and proxy
A voter ID card can be converted to a private proxy. The chart below shows the options.
The proxy (the person voting on behalf of someone else) must cast the vote of the proxy giver (the person giving the proxy) at the same time as their own vote.
