In Memory of Rob van Otterdijk

After retiring from his career as a teacher at Strabrecht College, Rob served as a city council member from 2014 to 2018 and, starting in 2016, as the GroenLinks party leader on the city council. 

From 2018 to 2022, he Alderman in Geldrop-Mierlo. In 2022, he stepped down from political office in Geldrop-Mierlo. As Geldrop-Mierlo’s climate mayor, he went on to inspire residents to live more sustainably and in a more climate-friendly way.

Rob was a kind man with a great sense of humor. But he also spoke up when he felt it was necessary. In addition, he was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He inspired many people simply by being who he was.
