Silver Service Medal for Paul Evers

On Saturday, September 19, Mathil Sanders, Alderman , presented the first Silver Service Medal from the municipality of Geldrop-Mierlo to Mr. P.C.J. Evers.

This award ceremony will take place during a festive dinner to celebrate his departure from the Geldrop Men's Recreational Volleyball League, at Piazza Italia on Korte Kerkstraat in Geldrop.

Paul Evers has been a member of the Geldrop Men’s Recreational Volleyball League (VC-Geldrop-HR) since 1995. As secretary, he was the linchpin of the board. Among other things, he was responsible for communicating with the clubs participating in the league.

When the then-chairman, Ton Koning, passed away very suddenly in 2019, he also took on that responsibility. In that role, he presided over the Annual General Meeting at the end of each season and at the beginning of the season. He also made sure that everyone received the report.

Every year, VC-Geldrop-HR organizes cup tournaments between external clubs. The teams compete against each other on two consecutive Tuesdays. The club serves as the host during those evenings and provides the trophies that are awarded.

In short, he’s a jack-of-all-trades whom the club will miss tremendously.

In recognition of his many years of dedication to the Geldrop Men’s Recreational Volleyball League, Paul was named an Honorary Member of the club on July 1, 2026.
