Housing development plan The Waag

Since the vacancy of the fire station and its grounds at 33 Vesperstraat in Mierlo, the municipality of Geldrop-Mierlo and Woonstichting Compaen have entered into discussions to realize housing on that site. The old barracks have been demolished to make way for the plan 'de Waag'. Woonstichting Compaen has realized 20 social rental apartments there.

Planning

All work has been completed and by April 2024, all apartments will be fully leased.

Because the public space of the site will also be redesigned, a design plan was drawn up for which local residents gave input on some points during the information evenings. This too has largely been realized. Only the greenery remains to be laid out during the current planting season.
