Feasibility Study: Stadteland Initiative Fund Geldrop-Mierlo
In Geldrop-Mierlo, work is underway to explore the Stadteland Initiative Fund: a joint investment fund for entrepreneurs and nonprofit organizations.
Since January 2026, a broad-based steering committee has been working with the consulting firm Blaauwberg to explore how the fund can contribute to collaboration and the achievement of shared goals in our municipality. Over the past period, discussions have been held with business owners, organizations, and other stakeholders for this purpose.
On July 1, an important step was taken: work will continue based on six funding regions, so that resources flow back as much as possible to the regions that contribute to them. A rate of €65 per €100,000 in WOZ value (non-residential properties) has also been set as a starting point. These decisions have been laid out in an initial memorandum, which will soon be shared with stakeholders and will also be available on the website.
The fund will be further developed as a tool for joint investment in areas such as energy, quality of life, city centers, business parks, culture, and innovation.
In the coming period, the initial proposal will be shared, and business owners and organizations will have the opportunity to provide feedback. After that, the city council will decide whether to establish the fund.
More information is available on the fund's webpage.
