Feasibility Study: Stadteland Initiative Fund Geldrop-Mierlo

Since January, a steering committee has been working on proposals for the structure of the Stadteland Initiatives Fund. The group consists of entrepreneurs, representatives of the sports council, the hospitality association, VNO-NCW, the municipality, and the Alderman . The chairs of both downtown management organizations will also be joining the group shortly. The process is being facilitated by Buro Blaauwberg.

Among other things, the steering committee is working on the fund’s objectives, organization, territorial division, and the representation and involvement of business owners and civil society organizations. These proposals form the basis for the further development of the fund.

An initial brainstorming session will be followed by additional meetings and discussions. The city council is expected to make a decision on the establishment of the fund by the end of 2026. If the decision is positive, the Stadteland Initiatives Fund Geldrop-Mierlo could launch on January 1, 2027.

How does the Stadteland Initiative Fund for Geldrop-Mierlo work?

The Stadteland Initiative Fund will soon be financed through a surcharge on the property tax for non-residential properties. Property owners and users of workspaces will automatically contribute to this fund on a pro-rata basis. This covers a broad range of entities: from industry, service providers, the hospitality sector, and retail, to organizations such as museums, Health, and educational institutions. Through the Initiatives Fund, these parties can finance projects that strengthen or stimulate the economy of 's-Hertogenbosch.
