Your neighborhood, your voice: Help shape the future of Akert
What will your neighborhood look like in five years? Will there be enough green space? Will children have enough room to play? And will residents truly feel connected to one another and their surroundings?
The plans for Akert, de Appelaar, and the Verbonden Wijk are entering a crucial phase this year. Now more than ever, your experiences, ideas, and opinions are invaluable. That’s why we’re looking for residents who would like to contribute their thoughts as part of a focus group.
As a member of the focus group, you’ll have a direct say alongside project partners, designers, and experts. Together, we’ll explore topics that matter: from the layout of outdoor spaces to the design of the neighborhood and ways to strengthen connections among residents. Currently, the group consists of 11 residents of various ages and backgrounds. But there’s still room for more people from the neighborhood.
What to expect.
- What? A group of local residents who meet 2 to 4 times a month.
- When? We will schedule the meetings together between June and October 2026.
- How long? A session lasts about 2 to 3 hours.
- No obligation. You can decide on a case-by-case basis whether you’d like to join.
- Topics: The first session will take place in early June and will focus on the neighborhood’s design. We will determine the topics for subsequent meetings in consultation with residents and the project team.
Everyone is welcome
We want to get as fair and comprehensive a picture of the neighborhood as possible. That is why we are specifically inviting tenants, families with children, and young people to participate. Whether you’ve lived in Akert for 40 years, have just moved here, or are hoping to live here in the future: your perspective matters.
