Apply for second or business passport
What is it?
If you go abroad often, you may need a business passport or second passport.
Business Passport
A business passport has 66 pages instead of 34, giving you more room for visas and stamps.
Second passport
A second passport may be necessary if you often visit countries that have conflicting interests or if your passport is often at the embassy for a visa application when you want to take a different trip.
How does it work?
Business Passport Requirements :
- You have the Dutch nationality.
Requirements second passport:
- Your first passport is still valid for at least 6 months.
What do I need?
- You bring all passports and identity cards you still have, even if they have expired.
- You bring 1 passport photo that meets the requirements for passport photos.
For a second passport, bring one of the following letters:
- A letter explaining that you need to travel to conflicting countries. Attach supporting documents to the letter, such as booking confirmations of your air travel.
- A letter explaining that you travel frequently while your passport is at an embassy for a visa application. Attach supporting documents, such as booking confirmations of your air travel. Also include proof from the embassy stating that your passport is there for a visa application.

How long does it take?
After 5 working days, you can pick up your passport at the municipality.
You can also apply for the travel document through the urgent procedure. You will then pay a surcharge. If you apply for the travel document before 3 p.m., it will be ready after 2 working days at the latest.
