New Geldrop-Mierlo City Council Inaugurated
Mayor Van Bree installed the new aldermen of Geldrop-Mierlo at a special council meeting on Monday, June 15.
The new municipal executive consists of Mayor Jos van Bree, Aldermen Fiona Bijl (Pro Geldrop-Mierlo), Frans Stravers (DGG), Hanneke Meulendijk-van de Pasch (DPM), and Mathil Sanders-de Jonge (CDA), and Municipal Secretary Nick Scheltens. With the swearing-in of the new aldermen, the new term of office for Geldrop-Mierlo has officially begun.
With the inauguration of the new council, the town once again features a mix of familiar and new faces. The comprehensive 2026–2030 council program, “Toward a Future-Proof Geldrop-Mierlo,” serves as a joint starting point for the new term of office. The program builds on the Geldrop-Mierlo 2044 Vision and provides direction for key decisions and developments in the coming years.
The final portfolio assignments will be determined at the first council meeting.
