A green neighborhood is more pleasant: City to Make Five Locations Greener
In the coming weeks, the municipality of Geldrop-Mierlo will be working at five locations to make neighborhoods greener. Pavers and excess paving will be replaced with plants and grass, and more space will be created for trees. This will not only create a greener appearance but will also contribute to a healthier and more pleasant living environment.
Green spaces do a lot for a neighborhood. Plants and trees provide shade on hot days and help reduce heat stress. A green environment also contributes to residents’ well-being. Green spaces encourage people to go outside, take walks, and socialize. Furthermore, a green environment can help reduce stress and make people feel better.
Work is taking place on Elsbroekpad, Hertogenlaan, Stationsstraat, Vincentiusstraat, and Ziggenstraat. Among other things, pavement in these areas will be replaced with landscaping and grass, and existing trees will be given more space to grow.
Through these projects, the municipality is working step by step to create greener neighborhoods, where it is more pleasant to live and spend time, even on hot days.
