Asbestos Found in a Small Section of the Playground at Kindcentrum Puur Sang
During a soil survey conducted in preparation for the construction of the new Puur Sang Child Center, asbestos was found in a small section of the adjacent public playground. The asbestos consists of small particles in the subsoil. As a precaution, the municipality immediately cordoned off the affected section of the playground with fences. This section cannot be used for the time being.
The soil on the school grounds and most of the playground has been tested and found to be clean. Asbestos particles were found only in a small section of the playground. The municipality is conducting additional testing to determine exactly where the contamination is located. Afterward, the contaminated soil will be carefully removed and cleaned. These measures are being taken as a precaution. The municipality aims to resolve the situation as quickly and thoroughly as possible.
New Construction of the Puur Sang Child Care Center
The Puur Sang Child Care Center currently consists of two locations: the Loeswijk location on Bisschop van Mierlostraat and the Lucia location on Haver. The plan is to consolidate both locations into a single new child care center at the current location on Bisschop van Mierlostraat.
