Advisory note Decision on Objection - order under penalty payment

By decision dated April 1, 2026, following a request for enforcement, an order subject to a penalty was issued due to illegal construction. An objection was filed against that decision. The Appeals Board issued its opinion on June 11, 2026. This advisory memorandum serves as the basis for rendering a decision on that objection.

Rules of Procedure for the Geldrop-Mierlo Municipal Council 2026

The current Rules of Procedure for the Geldrop-Mierlo Municipal Executive date from June 23, 2020, and no longer accurately reflect current practice due to, among other things, amendments to the Municipalities Act (regarding confidentiality) and the requirement to actively publish the Municipal Executive’s agenda and list of decisions. Therefore, in the run-up to a new administrative term, new Rules of Procedure have been drafted based on the model version provided by the Association of Netherlands Municipalities (VNG).

5

Decision on the Appeal Regarding the General Disability Parking Space on Vestingwal

On February 26, 2026, the Municipal Executive issued a traffic order designating an existing parking space at Vestingwal 31 in Geldrop as a general parking space for people with disabilities. This traffic order was published on February 26, 2026, in the digital municipal gazette (No. 86456).

On March 3, 2026, two objections were filed against the traffic regulation. These objections were considered on May 11, 2026, during a hearing of the Appeals Committee, and on May 26, 2026, the committee issued a recommendation to the mayor and aldermen.

This advisory note advises the College of Mayor and Aldermen on the decision to be made on the objection.

Policy Memorandum: Youth Education Fund for De Rots Elementary School

This proposal concerns the enrollment of De Rots Elementary School in Coevering in the Youth Education Fund (JEF). The school meets the JEF criteria because more than 30% of its students come from low-income households. By participating, the school can quickly and easily provide support to students who face barriers due to poverty. De Rots Elementary School can participate starting next school year, for which municipal co-funding is required.

7

Memorandum on the administrative agreement, including appendices, with the COA regarding the housing of unaccompanied minor asylum seekers at De Spaarpot

The reception center for unaccompanied minor foreign nationals in De Akert will close on September 1, 2026. On April 20, the city council approved additional guidelines for refugee reception and the temporary establishment—for a period of three years—of a reception center at De Spaarpot. The agreements between the COA and the municipality are set forth in an administrative agreement, supplementary working arrangements, and a safety plan.
