Support for families continues; PlusTaken moves to Geldrop-Mierlo

Starting January 1, 2027, the municipality of Geldrop-Mierlo will provide support to families with complex, multiple problems on behalf of the municipality of Waalre. An agreement to this effect was signed last week by the municipal councils of both municipalities. For residents, nothing will change regarding the support they receive. Services will continue as usual and remain of the same high quality.

The PlusTeam joint arrangement between the municipalities of Geldrop-Mierlo and Waalre has been in place since 2014. The PlusTeam currently carries out the so-called PlusTasks related to the Youth Act and the Social Support Act (Wmo). The municipal councils of both municipalities had previously decided to terminate this partnership effective January 1, 2027. At that time, they had already expressed their desire to continue the partnership in a different form. This is now being achieved through the new service agreement. Starting January 1, 2027, PlusTeam employees will be employed by the municipality of Geldrop-Mierlo. Support for families, both in Geldrop-Mierlo and Waalre, will be continued as much as possible by the professionals already familiar to the families.
