New Implementation Program Establishes Clear Guidelines for Events
Events bring Geldrop-Mierlo to life. From fairs and festivals to sports activities and village celebrations: they bring people together and create a lively atmosphere in our municipality.
Events Implementation Program
To ensure that events run smoothly and safely, the Municipal Executive of Geldrop-Mierlo has adopted the 2026–2029 Events Implementation Program. Sixteen venue profiles have also been created. These outline the possibilities and points of attention for each event venue. The City Council had previously established the guiding principles and policy decisions regarding events. The new implementation program outlines how these agreements will be put into practice. This ensures that organizers, residents, and the municipality are clear on what they can expect from one another.
The program includes agreements on, among other things:
- applying for a permit;
- safety, noise, and quality of life;
- health and prevention;
- accessibility and inclusion;
- sustainability;
- support for organizers;
- communication, participation, and evaluation.
Location Profiles
The venue profiles play an important role in this regard. They specify which Requirements each venue. This makes organizing an event more manageable and provides greater clarity in advance.
In practice
The implementation program is used in the licensing, oversight, and enforcement processes. It also serves as a tool during meetings with organizers and in the evaluation of events. In addition, it is shared with relevant partners, such as the Dommeldal Hospitality Association and the VillageMarketing Foundation. This ensures that everyone operates based on the same agreements.
The implementation plan is not a static document. An initial evaluation will take place at the end of 2027. If that evaluation indicates that adjustments are needed, they will be implemented.
