General Local Ordinance 2026

The municipality has amended a number of rules in the General Local Ordinance (APV). A number of new rules have also been added. These changes are important for enforcing the rules. But what does that mean in practice? Here is a summary of the most important changes:

  • To prevent forest fires as much as possible, a smoking ban has been imposed in forests and nature areas. In addition, no burning or smoldering objects may be dropped, discarded, or left behind in these areas. The ban is in effect year-round.
  • Events are now classified into three categories, from small to large. Depending on the category, either a permit is required or the event must be reported. The size of the event determines how far in advance the permit must be applied for.
  • A rule has been added regarding the surveillance of individuals. In short, this rule stipulates that it is prohibited to surveil a person, building, trailer, or houseboat in the vicinity of such locations.
  • Just as in the national regulations, the rules regarding drugs have been expanded. As a result, more types of drugs are now covered by these rules.
  • A new rule has been added regarding “abandoned vehicles.” In short, this means that cars that are still in working order may not remain parked in the same spot for more than eight weeks. Because this rule has been added, the word “abandoned” has been removed from another rule. Different rules already applied to cars that are out of order.
  • A provision has been added to the rule prohibiting the parking of large vehicles, stating that parking is also prohibited when a trailer is attached. The vehicle size limits have also been updated to better reflect modern vehicles.
  • The trailer has also been added to a provision regarding “vehicles obstructing the view.” As a result, certain vehicles with trailers may no longer park in a way that obstructs the view from a residence or building, unless such parking is necessary for work purposes.

With these changes, the APV is better aligned with everyday reality. In this way, the municipality continues to work toward creating a safe, livable, and pleasant environment for residents, business owners, and visitors.
