Genoenhuis kicks things off: open evening for new environmental plan
Genoenhuis is the first neighborhood where we will be implementing the new environmental plan of the Municipality of Geldrop-Mierlo. This is a significant step toward a single, clear, and comprehensive plan for the entire municipality. Therefore, we invite residents, entrepreneurs, and other interested parties to an open house on Tuesday, March 10, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the town hall (Meent 2).
What is the environmental plan?
Since the introduction of the Omgevingswet January 1, 2024, municipalities have been responsible for bringing together all rules for the physical living environment in a single plan. This includes rules relating to construction, land use, the environment, health, and safety. Examples include rules on building heights, land use, and noise standards. The environmental plan for Genoenhuis is the first step in that process.
What does this mean for you?
For residents and businesses, almost nothing will change. There will be no new construction plans or other spatial developments. We are primarily converting the current rules to the new structure of the Omgevingswet. This will create a single, clear, and transparent plan for the entire municipality that is also ready for the future.
Come to the information evening
During the open house, we will explain what the new environmental plan entails, what this does and does not mean for your living or working situation, and how you can view the plan via the Omgevingsloket (Environmental Desk). There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions. You are very welcome to join us on March 10!
The draft amendment to the environmental plan will be available for inspection for six weeks from March 6. During this period, anyone can submit their opinion. The plan will then be finalized in July.
