Changes to waste collection in Cure

Waste paper and cardboard collection is changing

We are going to collect waste paper and cardboard more efficiently. That is why, from now on, we will collect it once every four weeks instead of once every two weeks. In addition, we are installing underground containers in more and more places. This means that the garbage truck will have to drive through your street less often and less paper will blow away.

How and when is waste collected?

The waste collection calendar atwww.mijnafvalwijzer.nl and in the Cure Waste App shows you exactly when your waste paper will be collected.

Below are a few tips

  • Collect all old paper and cardboard carefully; it will be recycled into new paper.
  • Place your waste paper and cardboard on the curb by 7:00 a.m. on collection day, next to a public thoroughfare.
  • Prevent it from blowing away: offer it in boxes or tied together with rope.
  • If possible, place the paper in a cardboard box. It can be taken away immediately.
  • If you do offer it in your own crate or plastic container, please note that Cure is not responsible if it gets lost or damaged.
  • Health the packages are convenient in size and weight.
  • Not in the recycling bin: milk and juice cartons, pizza boxes, plastic, Styrofoam.

Disposing of residual waste will become more expensive, while vegetable, fruit, and garden waste and food scraps (VFG/E) will become cheaper.

Vegetable, fruit, garden, and food waste should be disposed of in the green container. Many people put this in the general waste, but that's a shame! Organic waste can be processed into compost and biogas, while general waste is incinerated.

To help you separate your waste more effectively, we will be reducing the rate for organic/electrical waste from January 1, 2026. The rate for the gray container for residual waste will increase. There will be no change for underground containers.

Rates

When you put out a mini-container or place a garbage bag in an underground container, this is recorded and linked to your address details. At the end of the year, all empties are added up and charged to you together with the standing charge.

For all rates, please visitwww.geldrop-mierlo.nl/afvalstoffenheffing (all rates for 2026 will be available on this page from January 1).
