Drug den Wede in Geldrop closed

On Tuesday, January 6, the municipality closed a house on Wede in Geldrop for three months. This was in response to a previous investigation carried out on the property.

During this investigation, the police found a cannabis farm with a total of 527 plants in the house. Investigations have revealed that a previous harvest had taken place.

Damocles policy

The decision was made on the basis of the so-called Damocles policy. Cannabis farms are generally a fire hazard, often cause nuisance to the residential environment, and attract criminals. The measure should contribute to reducing drug-related crime and thus to increasing safety and quality of life in society.
