Remembrance Day 2026

The municipal government of Geldrop-Mierlo cordially invites you to the annual Remembrance Day ceremony at the British War Cemetery in Mierlo on Monday, May 4, 2026.

Program

  • 7:15 PM: Welcome reception for visitors
  • 7:45 p.m.: Welcome remarks by Master of Ceremonies Sjef Hoekstra
  • 7:50 p.m.: Speech by Mayor Jos van Bree
  • 8:00 p.m.: 2 minutes of silence
  • 8:02 p.m.: National anthems performed by the combined Geldrop and Mierlo bands; Wreath-laying ceremony by municipal officials and members of the public; Speeches and music by This Generation
  • 8:30 p.m.: End of program

Laying down wreath or flower arrangement

During the ceremony, you will have the opportunity to lay flowers at the monument in the British War Cemetery. If you wish to lay a wreath or floral arrangement on behalf of a foundation or association, please notify us in advance at communicatie@geldrop-mierlo.nl
