The Bleekvelden Geldrop

The Bleekvelden and surroundings are a focus area in Geldrop. In the context of the vision business park and the neighborhood development plan Braakhuizen-Zuid it was decided to change the business park at the Bleekvelden into a residential area.

The Bleekvelden is a mixed business park that currently houses a few small-scale companies, office buildings, a construction market and a gym, among other things. With the transformation into a residential area, we want to make the area future-proof and meet the growing housing needs in the municipality. Approximately 220 housing units will be realized in the area.

Spatial vision

In the spatial vision we indicate how the area may change and what the preconditions are. Building is allowed on the edges of the area and there will be a green resting point in the middle. Between the new buildings relationships will also be established with the Kleine Dommel valley. The area will have an industrial architecture with a nod to Geldrop's textile past. The spatial vision was adopted by the city council on October 17, 2022. This document can be viewed below.

Transformation in progress

We have now begun the first phase of the transformation of the area. The Turkish Multicultural Foundation Geldrop (TMSG) has now put the building at Bleekvelden 21 into use as an association building. Furthermore, a permit has been granted for the conversion of the former municipal yard at Bleekvelden 1 to 20 and the first demolition work has started. In the existing yard there will be 20 loft apartments. These will be mainly owner-occupied homes that vary in price but will all fall below NHG limit. The start of construction is scheduled for the end of the year. The last homes are currently (October 2022) on sale. First new construction approaching!

On Mierloseweg (no. 40) at the corner of Ter Borghstraat, 40 rental apartments will be built in different price ranges. Under the building there will be an underground parking facility for residents. The zoning plan was adopted by the council on July 11, 2022 and can be viewed at www.ruimtelijkeplannen.nl (search for address Mierloseweg 40). Depending on the lead time of the procedure, construction could then start in 2023. 

CentrumImpuls Geldrop

Planning for the remaining sites in the area is ongoing. We want to complete the transformation of the area by 2030 at the latest. The Bleekvelden subarea is part of the overall project CentrumImpuls Geldrop.
