3 | Advisory Note Safety Monitor 2023 The National Safety Monitor is a large population survey designed to provide a picture of the state of affairs and developments regarding livability and safety in our country. This survey in the fall of 2023 conducted on behalf of the Ministry of Justice and Security. The results give a picture at national, regional and municipal (and for some municipalities such as Geldrop-Mierlo also at district) level of the experiences of residents with the livability of their neighborhood, the problems that play a role there, feelings of insecurity and the extent to which people have become victims of common crime. In addition, in our municipality we took advantage of the free space in the Safety Monitor to include additional questions. These questions cover the themes of social contacts and participation, neighborhood quality and reports of public space. The subjective experiences of residents themselves are an important supplement to the objective figures (incidents and crimes) from the police records. A total of 1,157 residents participated in this comprehensive Safety Monitor of our municipality. The Analysis and Intelligence team of the Municipality of Helmond analyzed the results and presented them in an infograhic: Results Safety Monitor 2023, Geldrop-Mierlo. The college decides: | |
