* Prokkel Voting Office

The town hall and community center in Zesgehuchten are designated as a Prokkel polling station.

This means that someone with a (minor) disability participates as a member of the polling station and performs tasks that are feasible within his or her disability. This happens under the guidance of another member of this polling station, creating a so-called Stimucounter duo.

This project was born out of the need for a more inclusive society. After all, people with disabilities are more than their disabilities; they want and can be meaningful in society.

More information about the Stimucounter Foundation and the elections can be found on the website of the Stimucounter Foundation: https://www.prokkel.nl/inclusieve-stembureaus/

The mobile polling station is being used to give residents of senior citizens' centers in Geldrop the opportunity to vote close to home.

Why are there sometimes two polling stations at one location?

Finding a location that is suitable for use as a polling station is not easy. The Electoral Council sets strict requirements for the layout of a polling station. It must be easily accessible. It must be large enough to allow for safe voting. And it is impossible for the volunteer polling station staff and counters to work late into the night counting the large number of ballots.

That is why we look for an additional polling station location in a neighborhood if the number of eligible voters in that neighborhood grows and becomes too large for a single polling station. Unfortunately, this is not always possible, as not all neighborhoods have sufficient buildings that are suitable for setting up a polling station.

That is why we are setting up two polling stations at one location, provided, of course, that the existing polling station location is large enough for this.

Counting of votes

The counting of votes cast will take place on election day from 9 p.m. at the respective polling station, except for the mobile polling station. The counting of the votes cast from the mobile polling station takes place from 9 p.m. at the town hall, De Meent 2 in Geldrop. The counting of votes is open to the public.
