Intention to change environmental plan Geldrop-Mierlo, subarea Genoenhuis
We are preparing an amendment to the temporary environmental plan covering the Genoenhuis residential area, including the businesses on the west side of Emopad and Amroth and recreational area De Smelen. For residents and business owners, hardly anything will change in terms of content. Nevertheless, we give everyone the opportunity to take early notice.
The Omgevingswet
On January 1, 2024, the Omgevingswet came into force and the municipality automatically (by operation of law) has one environment plan. We must convert this temporary environment plan into a new, fully-fledged environment plan no later than 2031. We are tackling this transition from temporary to new environmental plan step by step and primarily area by area. The environmental plan for the Genoenhuis neighborhood is the first step toward a defi nitive environmental plan for the entire municipality.
No significant changes
The starting point for the conversion from temporary to permanent is the existing rules and rights and existing (adopted) policies. No plans for new spatial developments are foreseen.
Participation
The amendment is primarily intended to convert existing rules to the new structure. For residents and business owners, hardly anything will change in terms of content. We therefore opt for a participation process that focuses primarily on informing residents and other stakeholders.

At a later date, the draft amendment to the environmental plan will be made available for public inspection. At that time, you will have the opportunity to present any views. The start of this public inspection and viewpoint procedure will also be announced in Midtown Interests.
