Week of Foster Care: focusing on children who cannot live at home (temporarily)

From October 29 through November 5, it is the Week of Foster Care. In this week, Foster Care Netherlands, Combinatie Jeugdzorg and other regional foster care organizations draw attention to the importance of foster care and the shortage of foster parents. We support this initiative, because every child deserves to grow up as at home as possible.

Foster care means that a child stays with another family for a short or longer period of time, because living with their own parents is (temporarily) not possible. The number of available foster parents is decreasing, while still many children are waiting for a place in a foster family. New foster families are therefore desperately needed.

Want to know what foster care entails and if it's a good fit for you?
