Job vacancy: Policy Officer for Traffic and Mobility
(32-36 hours, scale 10)

Are you working towards a safe, accessible and future-proof municipality? A lot is happening in Geldrop-Mierlo! From traffic safety at schools to smart parking solutions or street redesigns: you have a key role in developing and implementing our traffic and mobility policy. You switch smoothly between administration, residents and colleagues and ensure that mobility inside and outside the municipality runs smoothly.
Your challenge
- Advise and Collaborate: You will advise the college, management and colleagues on mobility issues and participate in regional and internal consultations.
- Policy development and implementation: You draft traffic and mobility policies, such as parking policies or traffic safety measures, and ensure their implementation and evaluation.
- Coordinate projects: You will collaborate on (spatial) projects such as housing construction and the digitization of parking permits and bring your traffic engineering expertise.
- Involving residents: You organize and supervise public participation evenings and information meetings and answer questions and reports from residents.
- Grants and Funding: You are committed to applying for and handling relevant grants.

The team
In addition to traffic and mobility, the Realization team has four other areas of responsibility: civil engineering and projects, roads and waterways, green spaces and nature, and geo-information. Within the Realization team, we do a lot of work in-house. We design, draw, and implement projects in public spaces ourselves. We strive to create pleasant outdoor spaces. In total, you will have 30 colleagues within the Realization team.
Together, we're making it happen in Geldrop-Mierlo.
What can you expect from us
- A salary of up to €5,554 gross per month (based on 36 hours per week) depending on your education and experience (salary level January 1, 2026).
- Individual choice budget (IKB) of 17.05% on top of your salary.
- Variable working hours.

- You will also have access to a phone and laptop, and electric bikes and shared cars are available for work appointments.
- An employment contract for the duration of one year with the prospect of permanent employment.

You ask probing questions, think in terms of solutions, and come up with smart ideas to enhance mobility and traffic safety. With your experience and knowledge of traffic and mobility, you create policies that work and have a real impact.
In addition, you have
- Experience with traffic and mobility issues, preferably within a municipal organization.
- A well-developed administrative antenna and strong communication skills.
- A completed college education, for example in traffic engineering or mobility.
- A proactive attitude: you work independently but also actively seek cooperation.
- Affinity for participation processes and involving residents and business owners in plans.
