Vacancy Policy Officer Waste
(24 - 36 hours, scale 9 or10)
As Waste Policy Officer, you connect policy, administration and implementation. With your ideas and approach, you will make a concrete difference for a circular future and satisfied residents.
Your challenge
In this versatile role, you will work on the tasks of today and tomorrow. This requires the following from you:
- Do you see where opportunities exist to improve waste policy and make sure it works in practice?
- Are you able to connect at different levels - from board to field?
If so, we would like to meet you as a Waste Policy Advisor.
What will you do?
As Waste Policy Advisor, you are the link between policy-making, administrative choices and implementation by our external waste partner. You ensure that agreements are clear, that signals from practice are picked up and that residents - where necessary - are helped quickly and carefully in the event of escalations. With your approach waste management does not remain on paper, but leads to noticeable improvements in the street and satisfied residents. In this role, you will have the space and drive to make a meaningful contribution to a cleaner, sustainable and circular municipality.
Your duties in brief:
- You will develop and update policies for waste and resources, considering sustainability, behavior and implementation.
- You will translate your plans and those of our external waste partner into clear advice for the college and city council.
- You will work with colleagues in communications, enforcement, field services and external partners to develop workable solutions.
- You encourage conscious behavior among residents and devise concrete approaches to improve waste separation and recycling.
- You keep in touch with execution by picking up signals from practice and directing accordingly.
- You are a budget holder, which means you are accountable through the planning & control documents and involved in the preparation of the budget and tax rates.

- Job evaluation is pending; the position will be graded in scale 9 or 10.
- An individual choice budget (IKB) of 17.05% on top of your salary.

- A one-year employment contract with the prospect of permanent employment.
Who are you?
You have a keen eye for what is going on in the community and know how to move people and processes. Furthermore, you bring:
- A completed college or university education
- Content knowledge of the waste industry, behavioral interventions and resident participation.
- At least 3 years of administrative and technical-content consulting experience (preferably within waste/cleaning). Have you gained relevant experience in another way, or do you have the right skills to step in quickly? If so, we also cordially invite you to apply.

- Experience working in a process-oriented manner with an eye for results.
