Communications Advisor (32 -36 hours per week).

As Advisor Communication at municipality Geldrop-Mierlo you play a key role both in advising the organization and the college of B&W and in informing and involving residents, entrepreneurs and partners in developments in our living environment.
We are looking for someone with an affinity for the spatial domain. Think about large infrastructure projects, sustainability initiatives or decision-making around the design of public space.
Your advice is reliable and concrete, and you know how to turn complicated topics into understandable and appealing communication.
You will work closely with colleagues in the various policy and project teams. In doing so, you actively gather input and bring in creative ideas to increase support and commitment.
You switch smoothly between different levels: from residents to administrators. You set priorities when there are multiple issues at stake and always keep an eye on what is feasible and effective. Thanks to you, residents feel heard and know in clear language what is happening in their living environment.
What will you do?
- Advising on and implementing communications policies and plans within "your portfolio" (from press and public information to internal and external communications).
- Drafting communication strategies and plans on complex and politically sensitive issues.
- Advise on creating participation plans.
- Function as co-spokesperson in contacts with media and residents, and maintain good relations with the press and local broadcasters.
- Writing and editing press releases.
- Organize (interactive) meetings with residents and organizations, and ensure strong presentations on internal and external occasions.
What do you bring?
- Demonstrated experience as a communications consultant, preferably in a political-administrative environment.
- Strong consulting skills and sense of administrative and social relationships.
- Creativity to translate complex topics into understandable and appealing communication.
- Reliability: you give realistic advice and deliver what you promise.
- Engagement with residents and partners, with an open attitude toward collaboration.
This is what you get from us:
- A salary up to a maximum of € 5,519. (based on 36 hours per week), depending on your education and experience (scale 10, starting April 1, 2025).
