H.J.P.H.M. Bosch-Van de Ven (Rita) appointed member in the order of Orange-Nassau
On Saturday, October 11, Mrs. H.J.P.H.M. Bosch-van de Ven was appointed Member in the Order of Orange-Nassau. Mayor Jos van Bree presented the decorations that go with this decoration after the Friends Salon organized by the Association of Friends of the Van Abbemuseum.
As a volunteer, Mrs. Bosch-van de Ven has been involved with the Society of Friends Van Abbemuseum in Eindhoven since 1996. She undertook the following activities here:
Along with another volunteer, she staffs the association's office. She is present in the museum every Monday and on the other days she can be reached by phone or e-mail. She was/is coordinator and co-organizer of numerous activities, such as multi-day art tours at home and abroad, lectures, tours and symposia.
Furthermore, as a member of the preparation committee, she is the driving force behind the Friends' Salon that has grown into an information center and meeting place. Eight to ten salons are organized annually.
Mrs. Bosch-van de Ven also played a major role in various activities surrounding the reopening of the museum in 2003. She acted/functions as a central contact for members, staff and external relations alike, and has been described as "the soul of the association.
She also served as secretary at the Friends of Van Abbemuseum Association between 2002 and August 2024.
