Help: Report groups of stray cats for an animal-friendly approach
The animal shelter and animal ambulance of Eindhoven region (Stg ROZE) calls on residents to report locations where groups of feral cats live. The organization wants to Map these populations in order to use an animal-friendly method to stop reproduction and prevent animal suffering. Anyone who spots stray cats can easily report this to the ROZE Foundation website.
In various places in the region - especially on farms, stables and industrial sites - groups of stray cats often live unnoticed. As long as these animals are not neutered or spayed, they continue to reproduce. This causes not only nuisance and food shortages, but also a lot of hidden animal suffering in young, vulnerable kittens. The most humane and effective way to address this problem is the so-called TNR method: Trap, Neuter, Return - capture, spay or neuter and return. The cats are caught with Health , treated by a veterinarian (rendered infertile, microchipped, vaccinated and checked) and then returned to their familiar environment. Because they retain their territory, new fertile cats stay away and reproduction stops immediately. This creates peace in the group: Less fighting, spraying and noisy heat.
Help from residents indispensable
The animal shelter and animal ambulance of Eindhoven region (Stg ROZE) can only carry out these TNR actions with the help of the public. Feral cats do not often show themselves, so reports from local residents, farmers and businesses are of great importance to be able to help in a targeted way. The call applies to residents of the municipalities of Bergeijk, Best, Bladel, Cranendonck, Deurne, Eersel, Eindhoven, Geldrop-Mierlo, Heeze-Leende, Nuenen, Oirschot, Reusel-
De Mierden, Son en Breugel, Veldhoven and Waalre.
Together, we ensure an animal-friendly solution and less animal suffering in our region.
