In May 2023, the municipality began preparing the redesigns of Vogelpoel Street, Bolsius Street and Reiger Street. This project involved preliminary discussions with residents to gather wishes and ideas with the goal of creating new designs for the three streets. The municipality presented these preliminary designs to residents during a walk-in evening in mid-January.

The college decides to approve the final design of Vogelpoel Street, Bolsius Street and Reiger Street.

Advisory note 80th anniversary of liberation

On September 19 and 22, 1944, Geldrop and Mierlo were liberated and it is important that we reflect on this together with our residents. Initiatives from residents show that the desire to organize things is great. All these initiatives together can create a wonderful commemoration period. It is important that this is facilitated in the right way.

College Decision:

  1. To agree on how to facilitate the 80th anniversary of the liberation;
  2. Agree to a maximum overrun of €14,000.00 on associated budgets.

Advisory note Experiment Positive Youth Policy

Brief note:
On July 1, 2022, the Positive Youth Policy Experiment started in Geldrop-Mierlo, with a duration of up to three years until June 30, 2025. The policy experiment Positive Youth Policy in Geldrop-Mierlo focuses on improving the development opportunities for youth by investing in their leisure time. This experiment aims at a structured approach where family, education and leisure time work better together, emphasizing talent development and non-formal learning. The goal is to achieve inclusiveness, a stronger pedagogical infrastructure and ultimately a reduction in demand for youth care through evidence-based interventions in an intensive collaboration with Clarijs Consult. Following an evaluation of the experiment that took place last April, there is reason to critically reconsider the continuation of the experiment. On April 16, 2024 the college was informed about this through the memo "Termination Experiment Positive Youth Policy". The college is now asked through this advice note to decide to terminate the Experiment Positive Youth Policy.

The college decides to agree to discontinue the Positive Youth Policy Experiment with an end date of July 31, 2024.
