Asphalt maintenance Rielsedijk (partial).

The Rielsedijk is a heavily used bicycle route between Geldrop and Eindhoven. To make the road safer and future-proof, we are working on a renewed design. Until Thursday, November 6, you can view the design for this work and give your opinion about it.

Why maintenance?

The Rielsedijk borders the countryside and is an important connection for cyclists. The asphalt of the roadway is in need of replacement. During maintenance we will convert this part into a bicycle street. The lane will remain the same width, receive red asphalt and in two places we will install speed bumps. This will reduce the speed and make it more compatible with the 30 km/h speed limit. After the work, the Rielsedijk will be ready for the future.

What are we going to do?

We are replacing the asphalt of the existing roadway. We are also renewing the driveways and repairing damage to the roadsides. A tree survey shows that six trees have a limited life expectancy or are diseased. O that they pose a risk to the environment due to dead branches, these trees will be removed and replaced with six new ones.

Planning

Work is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2026. As soon as a contractor is known, we will inform you of the final schedule.
