Municipality hands out free energy-saving products during Christmas market

The energy bill is increasingly a topic of conversation. Many people see the energy bill rise compared to previous years, also in municipality Geldrop-Mierlo. We want to help people keep their energy affordable and not leave anyone out in the cold. One of the ways we do this is by supporting residents who are struggling financially to reduce their energy costs. This is done by offering energy advice through the savings coaches. We also offer general help with finances through hulpopmaat.nu. Finally, we provide smaller energy-saving products, such as draft strips, mailbox brushes, LED bulbs and radiator foil. Soon we will do this during the Christmas Market Braakhuizen-Noord. Below you can read exactly what this entails.

Free energy-saving products during Christmas market Braakhuizen-North

On December 7, the Christmas Market Braakhuizen-North will take place in the Inner Garden of Magdalenahof in Geldrop. This market is free to visit for everyone and will take place between 16.00 and 21.00 hours. You can find the market at the Magdalenahof 1 in Geldrop.

The municipality is handing out small energy-saving products there. Free of charge. These include draft strips, mailbox brushes, LED bulbs and radiator foil. The energy-saving products are intended for low-income residents, but there is no income test. In addition, during the market you can have a Make an appointment appointment with an "energy fixer" who will apply the energy-saving products directly to your home. This service is free for you. In this way, the municipality wants to ensure that residents who cannot afford these energy-saving products themselves can still enjoy the benefits. The energy bill will be lower and it is better for the environment, but it also reduces drafts, which is better for your health.

Free advice savings coaches

In addition, residents can seek advice from the Energy House Smart Living savings coaches. They will visit your home to see what you can best do in your home to save energy. A visit from the savings coaches is free for renters and homeowners with a low income (up to 120% of the social assistance limit). If you have an income above 120% of the assistance limit, book a visit from a savings coach.
